Evening Primrose Oil is a rich source of GLA (gamma-linolenic acid), which has shown to be effective in reducing PMS symptoms in women.

Product Brief: Evening Primrose is a plant common to North America with a history of traditional medicinal use. The oil from the seed of Evening Primrose is rich in essential fatty acids – polyunsaturated fats essential for the maintenance of good health.

The majority of North Americans have difficulty converting Linolenic Acid (LA) from the diet into needed Gamma Linolenic Acid (GLA) because of dietary deficiencies, aging and disease conditions. This makes supplementation of Evening Primrose Oil – a rich source of GLA – so important.

Without sufficient GLA intake, the formation of prostaglandins is inhibited, which in turn affects the regulation of inflammation, blood pressure and hormone production. Scientific trials have supported the use of Evening Primrose Oil for such conditions as premenstrual syndrome, fibrocystic breast pain, eczema, rheumatoid arthritis, diabetes, heart disease, osteoporosis and ulcerative colitis.
